São Francisco Valley (Vale do S. Francisco), located in the State of Pernambuco, latitude 8 º, northwest Brazil, is a new wine producing region, that thanks to a protocol established with the Agronomy Institute of Lisbon to accompany the investigation, has been producing wines that achieved worldwide recognition.

Due to the unique climate (more than 300 days of sunshine per year) and the San Francisco River, the region is characterized by a distinctive "sustained growth cycle".  The harvesting of grapes can be done twice a year. All kinds of vines can exist at different growth stages. On the same day, in different plots, pruning can be taking place and simultaneously, see vines sprouting up or taste ripe grapes.

The project is all new: the region, the climate (semi-desert), latitude (Parallel 8). As Janis Robinson mentioned this wine is not of the New World but of a "New Latitude". With the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tanat and Malbec, the challenge of producing wine in this region is in the winemaking.
